God Control 2

A simple Biblical truth is that we NEED to surrender control to God. Faith in Him surrenders to Him. If and when we trust anyone or anything else it inevitably leads to disaster. Trusting ourselves instead of God is just as disastrous as trusting Satan or any other idol. God is worth trusting and surrendering to. Nothing and no one else is. Multitudes make the foolish mistake of trusting in themselves.

Jeremiah 17:5: Thus saith the LORD; Cursed be the man that trusteth in man, and maketh flesh his arm, and whose heart departeth from the LORD. 6 For he shall be like the heath in the desert, and shall not see when good cometh; but shall inhabit the parched places in the wilderness, in a salt land and not inhabited. 7 Blessed is the man that trusteth in the LORD, and whose hope the LORD is.

Proverbs 3:5: Trust in the LORD with all thine heart; and lean not unto thine own understanding. 14:12 There is a way which seemeth right unto a man, but the end thereof are the ways of death.

James 4:14: Whereas ye know not what shall be on the morrow.

Jeremiah 10:23: O LORD, I know that the way of man is not in himself: it is not in man that walketh to direct his steps.

Proverbs 20:24: Man*s goings are of the LORD; how can a man then understand his own way?

1 Kings 3:7b: I (Solomon) am but a little child: I know not how to go out or come in.

Numbers 27:15: And Moses spake unto the LORD, saying, 16 Let the LORD, the God of the spirits of all flesh, set a man over the congregation, 17 Which may go out before them, and which may go in before them, and which may lead them out, and which may bring them in; that the congregation of the LORD be not as sheep which have no shepherd.

2 Corinthians 3:5: Not that we are sufficient of ourselves to think any thing as of ourselves; but our sufficiency is of God;

John 15:5: I am the vine, ye are the branches: He that abideth in me, and I in him, the same bringeth forth much fruit: for without me ye can do nothing.

1 Corinthians 15:10: But by the grace of God I am what I am: and his grace which was bestowed upon me was not in vain; but I laboured more abundantly than they all: yet not I, but the grace of God which was with me.

2 Corinthians 12:11: I am become a fool in glorying; ye have compelled me: for I ought to have been commended of you: for in nothing am I behind the very chiefest apostles, though I be nothing.

Isaiah 53:6: All we like sheep have gone astray; we have turned every one to his own way; and the LORD hath laid on him the iniquity of us all.

Job 8:9: (For we are but of yesterday, and know nothing, because our days upon earth are a shadow:)

Romans 3:10: As it is written, There is none righteous, no, not one: 11 There is none that understandeth, there is none that seeketh after God. 12 They are all gone out of the way, they are together become unprofitable; there is none that doeth good, no, not one.

Romans 7:18: For I (Paul many years after he was saved) know that in me (that is, in my flesh,) dwelleth no good thing: for to will is present with me; but how to perform that which is good I find not.

Our only hope is to be led by the Spirit of God.

Romans 8:14: For as many as are led by the Spirit of God, they are the sons of God.
